The Mitutoyo digital QuantuMike utilizes a courser spindle thread which feeds the spindle by 2 mm per revolution of the thimble instead of the standard 0.5 mm. The coolant-proof micrometer's ratchet thimble mechanism provides a constant measuring force on the spindle to ensure accurate, repeatable measurements.
