The Mitutoyo mechanical paper thickness micrometer features a non-rotating spindle and special discs on the anvil and spindle to deliver highly accurate thickness measurements without damaging the paper. 

The Mitutoyo mechanical paper thickness micrometer uses extremely flat discs machined with high precision in Mitutoyo own Japanese facilities to measure paper thickness. The non-rotating spindle applies uniform pressure on the paper while a ratchet-stop mechanism delivers constant force and eliminates over-speed errors for precise, repeatable measurements.
