The differential screw mechanism in this Mitutoyo micrometer head provides extra-fine feeding of the spindle for highly accurate adjustments and measurements. Its non-rotating spindle eliminates torque for added precision. The spindle has a flat measuring face constructed of carbide and is lapped for lasting precision.
