Sklar Black™ Gerald Tissue Forceps are a light to intermediate weight instrument with very narrow tips specifically used to handle delicate tissue during laser surgery. They are often used in cardiothoracic procedures. They feature 1 X 2 teeth to securely grasp the tissue, but also have a stop peg to prevent an overly harsh grasp that may crush the tissue. Sklar Black™ Laser instruments feature a non-reflective black polymer coating applied over the sandblasted instrument developed specifically for laser surgeries. This safe, durable coating reduces laser reflection to less than one-tenth of a percent, ensuring a safer surgical environment for patients and surgical staff. All Sklar Black™ coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Black™ laser coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects.
