Sklar 67-5458 Hartmann Mastoid Rongeur
Sklar's® Hartmann Mastoid Rongeur is used for debulking in mastoidectomy procedures. Due to the use and effectiveness of antibiotics to treat ear infections, mastoidectomy procedures are not as common today as they were historically. Nonetheless, when antibiotic treatments are ineffective, infections of the middle ear may spread to the mastoid bone, thus making mastoidectomy necessary. The Hartmann Mastoid Rongeur is used to remove portions of infected bone. This product is curved with smooth, blunt tips and a length of 5-3/4 inches.
