Sklar's® Castaneda aluminum rib spreader is used in pediatric cardiothracic procedures, to allow clear access to the surgical field. This product features a seamless arm and blade profile, allowing for more length to transfer the pressure over a larger surface area, casusing less trauma in smaller patients. This product is available in three sizes - newborn, infant and child. The spread per size is similar to the Finochietto pediatric options, yet the Castaneda has the smallest (2-1/2" newborn size).
