PCE Instruments PCE-VDV 10 VDV Cable Detector with LCD Wiremap Display for RJ45, RJ11 and Coaxial

The Cable Detector is a portable testing device for diagnosing faults in network and coaxial cables and is used for the rapid inspection of structured cabling. Testing is carried out using a two-part system consisting of a main unit and a remote unit, allowing permanently installed cables to be tested reliably.

• Supports shielded and unshielded twisted-pair cables (Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Cat 7, Cat 7A) and coaxial cables
• Performs continuity testing of conductors (pins 1-8) and checks wiring assignments
• Detects short circuits, wiring faults, reversals, and split-pair faults
• Verifies the shielding of shielded cables
• Accommodates a wide test range for cable lengths up to 305 m
• Minimum cable length of approximately 0.5 m required for split-pair detection
• Clear LED indicators: steady LEDs indicate correct wiring, while flashing and status LEDs indicate specific faults
