Overview

IBI Kanamycin is a broad spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. Kanamycin sulfate is used in cell culture media to inhibit gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Kanamycin sulfate can also be used as selection agent for cells transformed with kanamycin B resistance gene.
