Overview
With Modbus Suitable for Use in Ex Zones
Whenever toxic gases, oxygen or hydrogen need to be monitored and you want current measured values to be transmitted digitally, the EC28 B transmitter combined with one of GfG‘s reliable controllers is an excellent and economical solution. The ATEX-certified transmitter can be used even in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Functional safety
The EC28's hardware complies with the European Functional Safety Standard DIN EN 61508-2: 2011 for many gases. The SI levels (up to SIL3) in single channel (1oo1) or redundant (1oo2) use depend on the type of gas and the sensor.
Communication and service
The EC28 B communicates via RS-485 industry standard with Modbus protocol. Its Smart Sensor technology allows for quick and easy sensor replacement. Adjustments can be made using the RC2 remote control (one-person calibration).
RC2 remote control (optional)
Gases like ammonia and hydrogen are lighter than air. Transmitters with these sensors are therefore installed near the ceiling. To simplify servicing them, these transmitters can be equipped with a permanently installed cable for connecting an RC2 remote control for maintenance work. This way, adjustments can be made from ground level. The information displayed on the the RC2 remote control's screen is identical to the one shown by the transmitter's display. This makes inspection, maintenance and calibration much easier.
Reliable measurement & minimal operating costs
The sensor and built-in temperature compensation guarantee high measuring accuracy. The long sensor service life and low maintenance requirements ensure minimal operating costs.
Features:
- Concentration display at remote control
- Easy sensor replacement by means of plug-in smart sensors
- Long sensor life
- Adjustments without opening the casing using touch keys or remote control; easy handling even for hard-to-reach transmitters positions (e.g. at the ceiling)
- Measurement gas and range: Oxygen, 0 - 25.0% volume
