  • Super widefield optical system offering crystal clear images
  • Top and bottom lights with separate dimmers provide incident and transmitted illumination for viewing biological specimens and industrial materials alike
  • Heavy-duty pillar stand with metal framework combines all of the functionality needed in a compact, stable form
  • Trinocular port for adding photo or video capability
  • Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 5MP USB 2.0 camera. Professional microscopy software for Windows, Mac, and Linux provide tools for image processing, measuring, and more.

The SM-2T is a turnkey trinocular stereo microscope solution for biological and industrial fields. Using our workhorse SM745 head, it provides remarkable optical quality with a wide zoom magnification range. The dual-illumination base provides solid support, and both transmitted and reflected lighting for observing a range of objects, from biological cultures to PCBs. This trinocular model has an additional port for mounting a camera, so you can record video or photos without replacing an eyepiece.

Optics

The stereo optics provide clear, sharp images with excellent focus-depth and a large working-distance. With 0.7X-4.5X zoom objectives, moving through the magnification range is as easy as turning a knob. 10X and 20X eyepieces are included, as well as 0.5X and 2X Barlow lenses to provide an expanded magnification range from 3.5X-180X, with high-eyepoint optics to accommodate glasses or goggles.

Ocular Adjustment

Dual ocular diopters can be adjusted to maintain consistent focus, greatly improving productivity. Rotating interpupillary adjusters simplify the process of aligning the eyepieces for each user.

Trinocular Port

The switched trinocular photo-port provides a dedicated mount for a camera. When the photo-port is switched open, all light from the left objective is diverted to the port to provide maximum brightness for the camera to guarantee the best quality images.

Dual-Illumination Stand

The dual-illumination stand provides a turnkey solution for biological and industrial applications. The pillar-based support system offers flexibility with its ability to quickly adjust height and lateral position. The microscope can be easily set and rotated in the mounting collar, and locked in place once adjusted. Large, symmetrical focus knobs provide the precision control needed, with adjustable tension for light or heavy loads as well as comfort.

Overhead and sub-stage halogen lighting allows you to work with opaque and translucent objects. The top light is mounted behind the head to provide offset light, and can be tilted for varied effect. This is useful for topological examination, such as with circuit boards and biological cultures. Thin tissue specimens, gemstones, and other translucent materials will benefit from the sub-stage transmitted lighting. A frosted glass stage-plate is provided to diffuse the light for more even back-lighting.

Digital Imaging

Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 5.0MP USB2.0 camera. The C-mount camera is specially designed for use with microscopes, allowing you to watch live images, and to record photos or videos on your computer. This ability to view microscopic images on your computer reduces eye-strain, and allows groups of people to view images at the same time. A 0.5X reduction lens is included for use with 23mm-30.5mm ports to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
