AmScope IN480 Series Inverted Infinity-Corrected Phase-Contrast Trinocular Compound Microscope 40X-600X Magnification with Kohler Illumination and 2MP Back-illuminated CMOS USB 3.0 Camera

  • 40X to 600X magnification range using a quintuple lens turret for five unique settings.
  • A high performance inverted microscope with brightfield and phase-contrast for transmitted-light applications.
  • The inverted format is a stable, ergonomic platform for cell cultures, multi-well plates, and larger specimen containers.
  • The swing-out condenser holder can make room for larger specimen holders
  • The infinity-corrected optical system ensures high-quality, high-resolution images.
  • Specialized 10X, 20X, and 40X objective lenses are included for phase-contrast applications, further improved by the fully-customizable Koehler illumination system.
  • The trinocular photo port provides a dedicated interface for mounting a camera.
  • Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included ultra-sensitive 2MP USB 3.0 camera. Professional microscopy software for Windows, Mac, and Linux provide tools for image processing, measuring, and more.

The IN480T provides high-resolution optics and a versatile inverted Koehler illumination system in a stable, ergonomic design for observing cell cultures and other biological and chemical specimens in brightfield and phase-contrast. The inverted form accommodates larger specimen containers, with multiple specimen templates and mechanical stage controls to improve workflow. High-resolution optics and phase-contrast capability maximize contrast and clarity to ensure high quality images. The advanced Koehler illumination system provides centering and aperture controls, as well as a swing-out condenser-holder to fully optimize the lighting for any scenario.

The Viewing Head

The viewing head has a 45° incline and Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment for flexibility and comfort. Super-widefield optics provide a larger field-of-view so you can see more specimen at any magnification. For users with astigmatism or asymmetrical vision, the left ocular can be adjusted to fine-tune focus. The trinocular format provides a dedicated photo-port for mounting a microscopy camera for capturing photos or videos. A sliding shutter isolates the light path when using a camera, avoiding stray light from the oculars during fluorescence imaging. The 23mm photo port is height-adjustable to match focus with the eyepieces, and can be replaced with an optional CX series C-mount port which have built-in reduction, and can directly interface with C-mount cameras.

Optics

The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates optical errors and ensures highly precise images. The quintuple objective turret provides instant access to 5 magnification levels. This allows you to efficiently move through magnifications from 40X to 600X. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy, with planatic flat-field correction to provide edge-to-edge sharpness.

The Stage

The large stage can accommodate slides, multi-well plates, dishes, and short flasks thanks to a number of included stage templates. Two plates are supplied for the stage™s aperture, including glass and key-holed metal for varying light control. A large mechanical caliper can hold and position any of the sample templates for precision placement. An extension is provided for an additional 70mm width when needed.

Koehler Transmitted Illumination

The Koehler transmitted illumination system consists of a centerable 30W halogen lamp, a field lens with iris, and a centerable, height-adjustable condenser with iris. The ability to center the lamp and condenser, along with the field and aperture diaphragms, allow for highly-efficient, optimized illumination for maximum resolution. Along with height adjustment, the condenser can be swung out of the light path. A slide-in annulus board provides two centerable phase-contrast annuli, as well as an open setting which can be used with colored filters for band-isolation or color-correction.

Digital Imaging

Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 2MP USB3.0 camera. With extraordinary sensitivity and a maximum framerate of 125fps, the MU203-BI provides high-definition imaging for low-light applications, including fluorescence and darkfield. Using a cutting-edge 2MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor with an incredible 2350mV sensitivity (1/30s), high gain-levels can be used for highly-responsive realtime video. A 0.37X reduction lens is included to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
