Fritted disc is angled approximately 15° from stem, which permits the small gas bubbles to rise from the disc surface without excessive formation of large bubbles. These tubes give a performance compared to a horizontal disc, but the method of construction allows its use in test tubes or flasks where a large opening is not available.
