Abloy EL580 Lock Case - Handle Controlled for Solid Doors Interior/Exterior

EL580 is a SCAND standard handle controlled singlepoint lock for solid doors. Handle controlled locks are best suited in medium traffic doors. The locks can be electrically controlled by access or remote-control systems. Handle controlled locks offer great solutions to medium traffic doors where EAC is needed.

Handle controlled locks can be set to function as fail locked or as fail unlocked. In the fail locked setting, the lock can be opened by handle when power is on and cannot be opened by handle when power is off. In the fail unlocked setting, the electrical function is reversed. Handle controlled doors are typically used in interior doors of offices, storages or maintenance rooms. Handle controlled locks cannot be used with door automatics.

This product is certified according to:

• EN1125, panic exit doors

Application:

EL580 can be electrically controlled by access control system or by a remote control system such as timer, keypad or push button. Handle controlled lock can be set to function as fail locked or as fail unlocked. In the fail locked setting, lock can be opened by handle when power is on and it can not be opened by handle when power is off. In the fail unlocked setting, the electrical function is reversed. EL580  is always automatically deadlocked when door is closed. In EL580 the outside handle is electrically controlled. Lock can always be opened by inside handle, or by panic bar. In order to function correctly, the handle requires a split spindle. Mechanical opening by cylinder is always possible. EL580 cannot be used in doors with door automatics.

Return springs must be used on both side of a door. In fire rated doors, bolt throw must set on 14mm position.
