Overview
The IRROMETER SR measures soil moisture by interacting with the soil through a porous ceramic tip. As soil dries, it attempts to pull water out of the instrument, creating vacuum measured by the gauge. This is a direct, physical measurement of the same tension plant roots experience, requiring no electronics, batteries, or calibrations to operate. Available in different lengths to measure at desired depths in the root zone, the standard gauge can also be replaced with electronic options for data devices, or an automatic switch which can be triggered at desired soil water tension levels. IRROMETER tensiometers are constructed of C.A.B., a durable, renewable, plastic designed for outdoor use. Fitted with stainless-steel gauges for many years of reliable service in field conditions, the gauges incorporate a membrane vent which allows them to maintain accuracy during changing conditions without sacrificing protection.
Features:
- 0-100 cb (kPa) range gauge
- Replaceable ceramic tip
- Direct measurement of soil water tension
- Large reservoir for quick maintenance
- Stainless Steel IP 67 gauge designed for harsh environments
- Membrane vented gauge for temperature and elevation compensation
IRROMETER measures soil water tension which indicates plant water availability. The STANDARD (SR) is for general use in most soils with ranges from 0-100 cb (kPa).
