The SF-2TRA stereo microscope is designed primarily for laboratory use, combining precision zoom optics, a robust stand with long-travel rack-and-pinion focus, and a dual-LED illumination system for reflected and transmitted lighting. This microscope is ideal for dissection and general observation of biological specimens, as well as working with sensitive electronic components. Laboratories and educational programs alike will benefit from the touchscreen digital-imaging system which allows for group observation, and avoids eye-fatigue during long-term studies. Electronic repair technicians will also benefit from the 9.7" screen and HDMI output for linking an external monitor or television.

Optics

The stereo optics provide clear, sharp images with excellent focus-depth and a large working-distance. With 0.8X-5X zoom objectives, moving through the magnification range is as easy as turning a knob. 10X wide-field eyepieces provide an ample magnification range from 8X-50X, with high-eyepoint optics to accommodate glasses or goggles. A 2X Barlow lens is included, which can be mounted to the objective housing to double the magnification range to 16X-100X. This will also result in decreased working distance. The combined magnification ranges provide 8X-100X.

Ocular Adjustment

This model does not have integrated ocular diopters, opting for focusable eyepieces instead. This helps maintain consistent focus when dioptric adjustments are not needed. Locking screws on each ocular tube will prevent rotation when adjusting focusable eyepieces, and stop eyepieces from falling out. Sliding interpupillary adjusters ensure that each user can properly align the eyepieces for comfortable viewing.

Simul-focal Trinocular Port

The simul-focal optics in this microscope allow the trinocular port to be used simultaneously with both eyepieces. This means the imaging system can stream live images from the microscope while you continue to work with full stereoscopic vision. The port has 0.4X built-in reduction to optimize the field-of-view for imaging devices with 1/2" and smaller sensor formats.

Support and Illumination

The dual-illumination stand provides a turnkey solution for biological and industrial applications. The track-stand uses rack-and-pinion movement for precise focusing. The microscope can be easily set and rotated in the mounting collar, and locked in place once adjusted. Additionally, the track guide provides high and low mounting positions for the collar to extend the range of travel when more working-distance is needed.

Overhead and sub-stage LED lighting allows you to work with a wide range of subjects. Along with providing bright, energy-efficient illumination, the low-heat LEDs will improve the longevity of temperature-sensitive specimens. The top light provides off-axis lighting for improved topological detail, ideal for dissection, electronics repair, and tensile-fracturing specimens. The bottom light offers backlighting for translucent subjects such as thin-tissue specimens, gemstones, plastics, and fluids.

Digital Imaging

This package includes an all-in-one imaging system which combines the technologies of a 8MP microscope camera with an Android tablet to provide a feature-rich experience like no other. The high-resolution 10.5" screen brings your microscopic subjects to life in vivid color, with 90° tilt and 360° swivel to set the screen to a comfortable angle while standing or sitting. Touchscreen navigation allows you to capture photos and videos with ease using the built-in software, as well as performing measurement functions. With all of the functionality you would expect from a cutting-edge tablet, the possibilities are endless.
