The SM-3TP is a heavy-duty, highly-flexible microscope designed for biological and industrial applications. This model is especially popular in the QC, repair and engraving industries thanks to its ease-of-use and reliability. With its wide zoom range and single-arm boom-stand, this model will become an indispensable instrument in any workshop or lab. This trinocular model has an additional port for mounting a camera, which is simul-focal so it can be used simultaneously with both eyepieces.

Optics

The stereo optics provide clear, sharp images with excellent focus-depth and a large working-distance. With 0.7X-4.5X zoom objectives, moving through the magnification range is as easy as turning a knob. 10X wide-field eyepieces provide an ample magnification range from 7X to 45X, with high-eyepoint optics to accommodate glasses or goggles. 0.5X and 2X Barlow lenses are included, which can be alternated to either halve or double the magnification range, expanding the possible magnifications to 3.5X-90X.

Ocular Adjustment

Dual ocular diopters can be adjusted to maintain consistent focus, greatly improving productivity. Rotating interpupillary adjusters simplify the process of aligning the eyepieces for each user.

Simul-focal Trinocular Port

The simul-focal optics in this microscope allow the trinocular port to be used simultaneously with both eyepieces. This means a camera can stream live images from the microscope while you continue to work with full stereoscopic vision. This is accomplished by sharing the left objective lens with the left ocular and the photo-port. This microscope uses our CX series trinocular port, so it can be easily replaced with optional C-mount ports to match specific cameras.

Single-arm Boom-Stand

The multi-pivoting stand provides a stable, flexible support system, ideal for hands-on work. The single-arm design provides heavy-duty support in a simple form. The head can be turned 360°, the focus-block can swing in either direction, and the lateral arm can rotate and swing to position the head at virtually any angle. The heavy, steel base ensures the stability of the microscope, even when laden with attachments.

Digital Imaging

This microscope comes with a cutting-edge auto-focus camera designed specifically for microscopy. It offers 1080p live-viewing over HDMI, and can record 5MP photos and video directly to Secure Digital media. The internal software provides control over exposure and color, and tools for measurements and comparisons. The addition of auto-focus limits the need to make focus-adjustments when using the camera as the primary means of observation.

Connected to an HDMI monitor or TV, 1080p live video can be viewed at a super-smooth 60fps. The included USB mouse allows you to control the camera through its easy-to-use interface. As an alternative solution, connect to the camera over WiFi for remote software control, with 25fps streaming. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software which can capture video and still images, and includes limited processing features.

Additional Items

This package includes a 144-LED ring-light with quadrant-control for bright and cool illumination. This lightweight illuminator mounts to the microscope's objective housing, and projects a smooth, encompassing field of light over objects, eliminating most shadows. When you need some shadows to bring out more details, the power-controller provides control over four subdivisions to manipulate the directionality of the light. You can cast light from the top, bottom, or either side in order to bring out the necessary topological details. Whether used as the sole light-source or in combination with additional illuminators, the ring-light produces a crucial light pattern for virtually any application. Energy-efficient and producing low heat, this ring-light can be used with biological specimens as well as industrial.
