The PIR-4000 is a small battery-operated passive infrared sensor that can be used to detect people walking in the protected area. The PIR-4000 is designed for indoor use around the house or garage. The sensor operates on one CR-123A battery that will last about a year depending on the number of activations per day.
The sensor can detect a person walking by up to about 40' away with a 110* field of view. The PIR-4000 works with any Dakota Alert 4000 Series receivers and has a maximum wireless range of about one mile*. You can use the PIR sensor to monitor a room in a house or even a garage. You can use multiple PIR-4000s with one receiver to secure several different locations.
